Who We Are

Niagara Stories is operated by Plexiri (“Plexiri,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Niagara Stories mobile app and related support pages.

Location Information

Niagara Stories can use your device location to show nearby attractions, update Explore Mode clues, estimate distances, and support navigation around the Niagara Falls region.

Location access is handled through Apple’s location permission system. You can allow or deny location access in iOS settings. If you deny location access, you can still browse attractions manually, but nearby automatic clues and location-based guidance may be limited.

We do not operate an account system for Niagara Stories, and we do not sell, rent, or share your location history.

Maps, Routing, and Directions

The app uses Apple map and routing technologies to display maps, points of interest, route context, and directions. When you request map or route features, Apple may process map, route, device, and location information according to Apple’s privacy practices and your device settings.

Niagara Stories may also provide practical visitor guidance such as parking notes, walking context, WEGO visitor transit context, attraction details, and route prompts. Live traffic, official transit, and map data availability can depend on Apple services, local providers, and network conditions.

Explore Mode, Microphone, and Speech Recognition

Explore Mode can use your microphone and Apple speech recognition to listen for hands-free commands, answers to prompts, and simple controls such as moving to the next fact or repeating narration.

Speech recognition and microphone access require your permission. Audio and transcripts used by Apple speech recognition may be handled by Apple according to Apple’s speech recognition and privacy practices. Plexiri does not operate a separate speech-recognition server for Niagara Stories.

You can use the app without speech recognition by reading facts, tapping controls, and browsing attractions manually.

Information Stored On Your Device

Niagara Stories stores app state on your device, such as saved attractions, selected preferences, Explore Mode progress, discovered clues, preferred language, narration settings, and recently selected destinations.

This information is used to make the app feel continuous between launches and app updates. You can delete the app to remove locally stored app data from your device according to your device’s operating system behavior.

Apple CarPlay

If Niagara Stories is used with Apple CarPlay, app features may appear on a vehicle display, including destination browsing, route context, and narration controls. CarPlay availability depends on Apple approval, device compatibility, vehicle support, and the app’s enabled entitlements.

Do not interact with the app in a way that distracts from safe driving. Follow traffic laws, road signs, official closures, and local guidance.

Information We May Receive If You Contact Us

If you email us or otherwise contact Plexiri for support, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, your message, screenshots, location context you decide to include, or diagnostic details.

We use that information only to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, improve the app, and maintain our business records.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

Niagara Stories does not include third-party advertising SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.

Apple may provide developers with aggregated App Store analytics, crash reports, or diagnostic information depending on your Apple device settings and Apple’s policies. That information is handled through Apple’s systems and is not connected to an account in Niagara Stories because the app does not require one.

Cloud Sync and Backups

Niagara Stories does not currently provide Plexiri-operated cloud sync. If you use Apple device backup, iCloud backup, or other operating system features, your device may back up app data according to your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy practices.

Children’s Privacy

Niagara Stories is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Safety and Accuracy

Niagara Stories provides travel, map, attraction, and narration information for convenience. Conditions, hours, routes, road access, transit schedules, closures, prices, and safety rules can change. Always follow posted signs, official instructions, local laws, and guidance from attraction operators.

Security

Because your saved places, preferences, and Explore Mode progress are stored locally, protecting access to your device is important. We recommend using a device passcode, Face ID or Touch ID where available, and keeping your device software up to date.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes or when legal, operational, or App Store requirements change. The “Last updated” date above shows when the policy was last revised.
